About VAJRA

Forty years of
manufacturing.
One new ambition.

VAJRA Concrete is the construction-materials arm of the Khurana Group (est. 1986) — a family business that's been running factory floors since 1986. We started VAJRA in 2024 because central India was importing AAC from Gujarat and Hyderabad. We thought we could do better at home.

Our story

We didn't start in concrete. We started in factories.

In 1986, Sandeep's father set up a small toy-manufacturing unit in Indore. By the time Sandeep took over in 2004, that one line had become four — plastic injection moulding, wooden educational kits, packaging, exports. He learned the unglamorous things: how a tight tolerance is the difference between a quality brand and a commodity; how a shop floor that's 5% better every quarter compounds into a moat; how a customer who feels heard becomes a customer for ten years.

In 2022, while sourcing AAC for an in-house warehouse expansion, Sandeep noticed something odd. Every quote was coming from Gujarat or Hyderabad. Trucks were rolling 800–1,200 km into central India to deliver a material the region was screaming for. Quality varied pallet-to-pallet. Lead times were unpredictable. The market was big, growing fast, and nobody was serving it locally.

We commissioned the plant in late 2024 on a 10-acre plot in Hingna MIDC, Nagpur — 6 km from the Mumbai–Kolkata highway, with rail access, and within a 12-hour drive of every major central Indian city. The brief to the engineering team was simple: build a plant that produces a block the structural engineer trusts without a second test, every single day. That's the bar. That's VAJRA.

Mission

Make every wall in India lighter, quieter, and built faster — starting from Nagpur.

Vision

Be the AAC brand of choice for every architect and developer working between Pune and Raipur by 2030.

What we hold ourselves to

Three values. Non-negotiable.

Specification, every time

If the datasheet says 600 kg/m³ at 4 N/mm², every pallet leaving the plant proves it. We test every batch — and publish the results.

Build with our customers

We're a small team that picks up the phone. Architects get drawings, engineers get test certificates, masons get on-site training — all included.

Make peace with the planet

Every block we ship displaces fired clay. We use industrial by-product (fly ash), zero topsoil, and a third the embodied energy of red brick.

Leadership

Built by people who've actually run a factory.

No corporate parachute consultants. Every person leading VAJRA has spent at least a decade on a manufacturing floor.

Sandeep Khurana — Developer

Sandeep Khurana

Founder & Managing Director

Third-generation manufacturer. Took over the family's toy plant in 2004, doubled output by 2010, and spent the next decade studying how to bring the same discipline to construction materials. MBA from Symbiosis Pune.

Ar. Mehul Deshpande — Architect

Ar. Mehul Deshpande

Technical Director

B.Arch and M.Tech (Structures). Spent 12 years at Magicrete and Conecc as a senior project architect before joining VAJRA at inception. Wrote the company's internal QC protocol.

Rohit Pawar — Site Engineer

Rohit Pawar

Plant Manager

Mechanical engineer who came up through the floor — 8 years operating autoclaves at Biltech Hyderabad. Runs the two-shift Nagpur operation and trains every new operator personally.
